Performance of youth and athletes in the Shangal district

Yazidi youth and athletes made a common demand to the Government:

"On behalf of the young Yazidi athletes returning from the camps in Shangal, we ask and demand that the structure of the Shangal Sports Club be restored and that the refugees be included in the State and administrative bodies to achieve change and justice in the functional representation and participation of young Yazidis in sports events. Today, we stand here to change the leadership and structure of the Shangal Sports Club and enable Yazidi youth returning from the camps to take up leadership positions in the club in order to bring sports life back to Shangal.

It is our right, as yazidi refugees, to choose our own governance, in which we see a bright future for youth and sports in Shangal, and to return to achieve achievements."
