The General Secretariat of the Committee for the Protection of Minority Rights in Iraq issued a press statement expressing its opposition to the Arabization of Sinjar, the capital of the Yazidi people in Iraq and around the world.

Ezidi24 received a copy of the secretariat's statement, which said “ " More than 3 years after the liberation of Sinjar, it is still 80-95% destroyed. The original Yazidi population lives in camps in Kurdistan. Since the first hours of the ISIS terrorist invasion of Sinjar, more than 1,000 residents have been killed and more than 69 mass graves found, not to mention the large number of missing Yazidi girls and children (who are still in ISIS hands). Unfortunately, many parties have taken advantage of the difficult circumstances in which Sinjar residents are struggling to return to their homes. The weak results of the Iraqi state in planning the rebuilding of infrastructure, houses and basic services has led to the hegemony of the Shiite armed forces, control of the Sinjar district and other areas of the Nineveh plains.”

The statement also said: "recently there has been the phenomenon of creation between the Shiite, the purchase of land and property in Sinjar for exorbitant amounts and converting this area in an alleged Shiite Shrine».

The General Secretariat is asking for the restoration of Yazidi homes. Our organization condemns these actions and calls for an end to the Arabization of Sinjar and not to put pressure on the oppressed Yazidis."
