In Georgia enterprises producing food products will receive subsidies for electricity

The state will cover 50% of the difference between the electricity tariff of 2020 and the increased tariff of 2021, according to the Ministry of Economy of Georgia. The subsidy will affect enterprises that produce food. The relevant decree of the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia has already entered into force.

The subsidy will affect enterprises operating in the following industries:

Poultry farming;

Preservation and processing of meat (including poultry);

Production of meat products;

Processing and conservation of fish, crustaceans and shellfish;

Preservation and processing of potatoes;

Other types of fruit and vegetable processing;

Production of oil and fats;

Production of margarine and other edible fats;

Processing and production of milk and dairy products;

Production of wheat products;

The production of starch;

Production of bread and confectionery products;

Manufacture of macaroni, etc;

Manufacture of sugar;

Manufacture of spices;

Production of homogenized nutritional and dietary preparations;

Production of ready-made feed for farms and pets.

To receive a subsidy, entrepreneurs must fill out an application on the electronic platform from January 13 to 27, 2021 at the link https://registration.gov.ge/electricity.

The subsidy will not be used to pay off existing debts. In case of payment of the full amount for electricity consumption, the subsidized amount will remain on the subscriber's account.

Recall that on December 29, according to the decision of the National Commission for Energy and Water Supply Regulation of Georgia (GNERC), electricity tariffs for Telasi and Energo Pro Georgia subscribers increased. The changes came into force on January 1, 2021.
