Co — rapporteurs of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Georgia Titus korlatsian and Claude Kern call on all political parties to accept the mandates received in the elections and enter the Parliament, - this is stated in a statement published on the website of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

"These elections ended with a diverse Parliament, where the ruling party faced a strong opposition, which will ensure appropriate parliamentary oversight. The only appropriate forum for this, as well as for debate and discussion of various political views, is the Parliament.

For the democratic consolidation of Georgia, we call on all parties to accept the mandates received in the elections and enter the Parliament. We fully support the conclusions and overall assessment of the election of the International monitoring mission, of which the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was a part. We also note a significant number of reported violations, including persistent allegations of electoral abuse, such as abuse of administrative resources, pressure on voters and party activists. These allegations are of serious concern and the responsible authorities should investigate them in a transparent and satisfactory manner. There should be no sense of impunity for election violations. However, the shortcomings noted by observers should be addressed. The new Parliament has an important role to play in this," the statement said.
