It is very sad to see that Yazidi society is becoming more and more divided, ordinary Yazidi mrids (lay people) who live abroad do not know or understand what is happening in Iraq. Many questions arise for those Yazidis who care about their people. Naturally, this thinking part of the people has many questions around the election of a new Baba Sheikh Ali Elias Haji Nasir.

To this day, the Yazidi community in Iraq, living in Shangal, Sinjar and the Nineveh valleys, cannot live in peace and security on their lands, in dignity and in peace, under a fair system that preserves their rights and freedoms. Will these topics be discussed among the leading intellectuals of the Yazidi community living in various countries? Yazidis, more than ever, need a format of discussion and discussion, not disagreement.

It is also very disturbing that there is no unity in the clergy. Will the moment come when the reins of government will be handed over to competent, intelligent and decent people who enjoy the authority of the entire Yazidi people, and not a small group of clergies who are responsible for the entire Yazidi people?

The Yazidi clergy is at a crossroads, and today they need to renew and strengthen their authority. How close this topic is to every layman can be seen in the preservation of the Yazidi religious identity. Yazidis in Europe, Russia-outside the traditional places of residence of the Yazidi community-how much do they care about this topic?

The Yazidi people today want to see a collective, unified, authoritative team that can take on the burden of governance and leadership? After all, leadership in the Yazidi community is the heaviest burden.

Perhaps the time is coming to create a National Assembly, that is, a "Parliament" of the Yazidi people, whose functions will be assigned important requirements and responsibilities. After all, the question is whether to be the Yazidi people in the period of globalization and the erosion of national identity.
