The PKK is doing everything to stay in the Yazidi region of Shang'ala, they are going to all sorts of provocations, even attracting some Arab tribal leaders to ask the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kazimi to amend the terms of the Shang'ala agreement so that their forces can remain in Shang'ala.

According to information obtained by BasNews, the PKK, through several Arab tribal leaders who met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kazimi and spoke with him on behalf of the people of Shangal, called for a review of the provisions in the agreement to withdraw the PKK from Shangal.

Adviser to the Prime Minister of Kurdistan on Yazidi Affairs, Sheikh Shamo told BasNews that these Arab tribal leaders are not representatives of the people of Shangala.

"Everyone is obliged to comply with the Shangal agreement signed between Baghdad and Erbil. We know that the Iraqi government will not accept this offer made by them, and those who make such calls have a role to play in ensuring that Shangal continues to be in this state, " Shamo said.

According to the Yazidi official, the Iraqi government became convinced that the situation in Shang'al could not be resolved without Erbil, and therefore reached an agreement with the Kurdistan government.
