Our Yazidi reality in the era of globalization is that against the background of global changes, the community is in a vacuum of social occupation from external and internal forces. Social-occupation implies ways of developing a community under the control of third parties. But also, a large share of the blame for this social - occupation lies on our shoulders due to internal strife and scepticism. There are several reasons why globalization cannot be blamed for all the ills of our nation:

"Globalization has not only different meanings, but also different goals, which determines both different value vectors of these meanings and different strategies for achieving goals. In one case, globalization is understood as the organization of unity of diversity, provided by the interaction of different cultural traditions, patterns and values, aimed at preserving them in order to enrich the content of the cultural life of humanity and its cultural space. In another case, globalization is understood as the unification of cultural models, which will inevitably mean the national homogenization[i] of the cultural space of humanity."

Unification and national homogenization can happen to us Yazidis if we allow this to happen, so we should stop the internal struggle in the community to protect ourselves from this. In fact, this is not difficult to do just look at the experience of other peoples, who in turn have gone through this. What mechanisms have these peoples developed to avoid unification of their people? What reforms have they made to their traditions, religion, and culture to preserve their identity? Sometimes the answers to acute questions lie on the surface. We Yazidis need to learn how to manoeuvre "between the Golden mean" and not go to extremes. On the one hand, we must honour and love our people, and on the other, we must respect other peoples and live side by side with them.

The Golden mean can save us from national homogenization and social occupation in the era of globalization.
