Release of another Yazidi child

In the presence of Evan Faeq Yakoub Jabro, Minister for refugees and migrants and head of the parliamentary Committee on immigration, MP Raad al-Dahlaki, a ceremony was held at the Embassy to hand over the Yazidi child Barzani Khalaf to his uncle Omar Khalaf, from the Iraqi woman Amal, who cared for him.

Six years after he was abducted by THE Isil terrorist organization in an attack on the Sinjar district in northwestern Iraq, the Yazidi child "Barzani Ibrahim Khalaf" has been released.

Barzani (8 years old) was abducted from the village of Tal Kasab, South of mount Shangal, along with all six members of his family. Three of them were released earlier, in addition to Barzan, his parents have not yet been found.

Munir Lukman, his cousin, said: "About a year and a half ago, we found out that he was in a family from the Tal afar area, who adopted him during the abduction and after many attempts, we came to him, and after completing legal procedures, he was released.

He said:" we thank all parties and all individuals who helped us complete the legal procedures, and we hope to release the rest of the abducted Yazidi children."
