There are no schools for Yazidi children in the Seri Kania camp in the al-Talaa district, 6 km East of al-Hasakah.

On August 16, the Autonomous administration in Northern and Eastern Syria announced the opening of a camp called "Sereh Kania " East of Hasaka, where about 800 families currently live.

Nure, one of the displaced Yazidi girls living in the camp, told the ezdina website that the camp's children are not yet going to school, even though more than two months have passed since the camp opened.

Nure calls on the relevant authorities to work to open a school for their children, pointing out that the children of displaced Yazidi families from Sera Kania have not received an education for more than a year.

For his part, the administrator of the educational complex for internally displaced persons from Sere Kania, Muhammad Hajo, explains that the Directorate has started preparing the territory intended for the opening of a school in the camp.

Hajo added that the camp's school will include the installation of 16 tents, where about 30 people from the teaching staff will monitor the educational process in the camp.

Notably, on 20 November 2019, the Autonomous administration established a camp called "Vashokani" in the city of Tuvina, 12 km West of Hasakah, which is home to about 12,000 displaced persons from Sere Kania / RAS al-ain and its countryside.
