Is the opposition winning against the ruling party? Fresh survey from Ipsos

The authoritative French company Ipsos conducted a survey of Georgian citizens on the upcoming October 31 parliamentary elections. The survey was conducted at the request of the opposition TV company "Mtavari".

The results show that the opposition and the ruling Georgian dream party at this stage receive almost an equal number of votes, and after clarifying the answers of undecided respondents, the opposition in the case of unification is confidently ahead of the ruling party.

Answers to the question " which party would you vote for if the parliamentary elections were held this week?» distributed as follows:

Georgian dream — 25 %

United national movement and United opposition "Strength in unity" — 15.5 %

European Georgia — 5 %

Agmashenebeli Strategy — 3 %

Labor party — 3 %

Alliance of patriots — 3 %

"Girki" — 2,5 %

United Georgia-democratic movement (Nino Burjanadze) - 2.5 %

Lelo — 2 %

"Citizens" (Aleko Elisashvili) - 1.5 %

Free Georgia — 1 %

Other parties — 3 %

I don't know-19 %

Refused to answer-14 %

According to the results obtained after allocation, the answers to the same question look slightly different (allocation is a method of distributing the votes of respondents who refused to directly name the favorite party, based on the analysis of answers to additional questions):

"Georgian dream" — 38 %

United national movement and United opposition "Strength in unity" — 26 %

European Georgia — 9 %

Agmashenebeli Strategy — 5 %

Labor party — 4 %

Alliance of patriots — 4 %

Girchi — 3 %

United Georgia-democratic movement (Nino Burjanadze) — 3 %

Lelo — 3 %

"Citizens" (Aleko Elisashvili) – 2%

Free Georgia — 1 %

Other parties — 2 %

The survey was commissioned by the international company Ipsos-France and was conducted by Mtavari TV company. The survey was conducted on September 10-18. Across Georgia, 1,500 randomly selected respondents were interviewed by direct interviewing. The calculation error is +-2.5%.
