Sheikh Khidir: Yazidis still insist on the return of the Peshmerga forces in Shangal

The commander of The Peshmerga forces in Shangal told BasNews that Yazidi families who have returned to Shangal continue to demand the return of Peshmerga forces to the Yazidi district.

We remind you that both boys and girls from the Yazidi people serve in the Peshmerga units.

"The situation in Shangal is still difficult. Yazidis who have returned to Shangal guard their homes at night. They don't feel safe in their homes. They are constantly contacting us and waiting for The Peshmerga forces to return to Shangal. Residents do not trust the armed groups that have settled in the area. It is the presence of these armed groups that is causing the deterioration of the security situation in Shangal," Sheikh Mizil Sheikh Khidir, commander of the Peshmerga forces in Shangal, told Basnews.

"As soon as the Peshmerga forces enter Shangal, all displaced Yazidi individuals will return to Shangal," he added.
