Rtveli 2020: 7.5 thousand tons of grapes delivered to processing plants

As part of Rtveli 2020, 7.57 thousand tons of mostly early grape varieties have been delivered to the plants, according to the national wine Agency of Georgia.
At this stage, the coordination headquarters has already registered 140 wine companies, which will be gradually connected to the process of implementing the harvest. The cost of the delivered grapes has already amounted to 7.75 million lari.
This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Georgian government decided to subsidize two grape varieties-"Rkatsiteli" and "Kakhuri Mtsvane" – in order to support farmers-growers.
Subsidies will be given to wine companies that will purchase and process at least one thousand tons of grapes of these varieties. At the same time, wineries have a fixed purchase price of at least 80 tetri (26 cents) per kilogram. The state subsidy will be 30 tetri per kilogram.
According to the Agency, " Rkatsiteli "has already delivered 4 thousand tons worth more than 3.3 million lari, and" Kakhuri Mtsvane " – 873.8 tons worth 815.5 thousand lari.
The coordination headquarters of Rtveli 2020 is located in Telavi. it works 24 hours a day for active communication between government agencies, entrepreneurs and winegrowers.
