From today air traffic between Tbilisi and Riga is resumed

Another air bridge has been restored - another regular air service between the capitals of Georgia and Latvia is being resumed from today, Imedi TV channel reports, referring to the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of Georgia.

From August 2020, both commercial Charter flights and regular flights along safe corridors will be operated from Georgia.

The civil aviation Agency conducted technical negotiations on this issue with several airlines, including AirBaltic.

The Latvian airline will initially operate flights once a week. After August 20, the frequency of regular flights will be increased to twice a week.

AirBaltic flights will be performed by Airbus A220 and A 300 aircraft.

Riga is the third international destination with which regular air traffic from Tbilisi international airport has been resumed since August. From August 2, Lufthansa resumed regular flights on the Munich-Tbilisi-Munich route, and from August 8, Air France will resume regular flights from Paris-Tbilisi-Paris.

The Council of the European Union has left Georgia on the list of safe non - EU countries whose citizens can travel to the EU. The 13-country safe list includes Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.
