It has already been 6 years since the Yazidi genocide. Can we say that everything is over and life has returned to the regions where this terrible event took place? Have the Yazidis of Iraq and Syria returned to normal life? In some media, it is customary to say that, " the Genocide is over and life is getting better. Yes, there are more positive trends, Yazidis are returning to their homes, although they are mostly destroyed." The genocide, alas, is not over yet, now the terrorist groups have changed their tactics, now they are focused on destroying the fields of crops that the Yazidis sowed. Moreover, the word "Yazid" is being removed from Yazidi monuments. Cultural genocide is what is happening now with the Yazidi minority.

We, the Yazidi community around the world, should not forget what happened exactly 6 years ago, when a plague called ISIL (a terrorist group) invaded Iraq and Syria, in regions where Yazidis were little protected. Yazidi regions and regions of other national and religious minorities were hit. ISIS has kidnapped women for sexual slavery, and children for recruitment by its group. Men and those who resisted them were killed. According to unofficial data below is the statistics of the Yazidi genocide:

-About 7,000 people suffered psychological and physical injuries

- Approximately 6,417 women and children were abducted

-More than 3,469 people are missing

-Found more than 80 mass graves of Yazidis

It is difficult for international organizations to provide accurate information on the number of victims of genocide due to the unstable situation and the pandemic.

The Yazidi people have faced genocide many times, but in order to avoid it in the future, we need to become stronger and not be indifferent to each other.
