Aknalich village is located in the Armavir province of the Republic of Armenia.

A resident of the village Rostam Mstoyan in his story noted that Aknalich is an Armenian-Yazidi village, which is home to about 700 families, including 30 Yazidi families. The village is home to one family of pirs and two families of sheikhs.

The village of Aknalich was founded in 1926. Until 1954, the village was called Aknalich. The modern name Aknalich means "Eye of the lake" in Armenian.

The population is engaged in animal husbandry, fish farming and gardening.

In the village there is a "Surety". Thanks to the patron of Mirza Cholojevich Sloyan, the temple "Sltan Ezid"was built in 2012. According to Rostam, this temple is the first Yazidi Shrine in the region. Also in 2019, on the initiative of Mirza Cholojevich, the world's largest Yazidi temple "Tawusi Malak and seven angels" was built. Representatives of the Yazidi community consider the construction of these temples over the past decades to be the most important achievement.

In that Ziarat (temple) was immortalized in several monuments of the Yezidi people. Monument to Jangir Agha, national hero of the Yazidi people. Monument to Usub Beg, also a national hero. Monument Davreshe Avdi, public figure and hero's Yezidi people. A monument dedicated to the victims of the genocide of the Yezidi people in Shangal.

There is a secondary school in the village that teaches the Yazidi language.

Despite all this, there are acute problems that the Yazidi community is experiencing. For example, the problem of watering fields, not enough water for gardening.

There is a problem of road surface on the streets of the village, which was promised to be solved this year. Gas supply in the village is available, drinking water is available, night lighting is available.
