The European Union will allocate 183 million euros to Georgia to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Lawrence Meredith, Director of the European Commission's Eastern neighbourhood Department, wrote about this on his Twitter page.

According to its text, the EU allocates 80 million euros for urgent needs and 883 million euros for short-term support. From this amount, Georgia will receive more than 183 million euros.

At the same time, according to a statement published on the website of the European Commission, the European Union allocates 962 million euros for assistance to the Eastern partnership countries. The money will be used to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in six Eastern partnership member States, including Georgia.
