NATO military vessels entered the port of Poti

The ships of the permanent anti-mine group of NATO (SNMCMG2) arrived in the Georgian port of Poti on a friendly visit as part of the flagship-the canadian Navy frigate HMCS Fredericton FFH 337, the Italian frigate Virginio Fasan F 591, the Turkish frigate TCG Salihreis F 246, the Romanian F222 Regina Maria and the Bulgarian Corvette BGS VERNI

Despite the fact that many events are canceled to reduce the risk of COVID-19 disease, the exercises with the participation of Georgian ships will be held in accordance with the plan.

During the visit, the coast guard vessels of the border police of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia "Ochamchire" [P23] and "dioskuria" [P25] and the vessels of the permanent second naval unit of NATO will conduct joint exercises. The purpose of the exercise is to increase the level of interaction between NATO and Georgian military vessels.
