The government of Georgia has scheduled two additional flights to Warsaw and Barcelona on April 24 and 27, respectively, to take its citizens out of Poland and Spain in the face of the termination of regular flights due to coronavirus.

"As a result of our consultations, it was decided to add two more new routes to Warsaw and Barcelona for the export of our citizens. The flights will be carried out on April 24 and 27 in accordance with the recommendations of the world health organization," Georgian foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said at a briefing on Monday.

Earlier, the Georgian foreign Ministry reported on scheduled flights to several European capitals in April.

Foreign Minister Zalkaliani also said that the government has managed to export more than 5,000 Georgian citizens from other countries over the past few weeks.
Commenting at a briefing on the proposal of the opposition party "United national movement" to organize the export of Georgian citizens to their homeland from Europe at their own expense, the Minister said that the government has an approved plan for this.
"The government has a plan to export its citizens from Europe. As for the opposition's proposals, we have a Fund to fight coronavirus, and if the opposition wants to help their compatriots abroad, they can transfer funds to this Fund," Zalkaliani said.
