Stop the "coin" camp project to place the killer next to the victim

The project of the Ministry of immigration and displaced persons has dangerous consequences that predict future mass killings of Yazidis.

Despite loud voices of condemnation and rejection regarding the completion of the project to build a camp (currency) in the Zammar / Nineveh district to receive 31,400 ISIL families arriving from the al-Khol camp in Syria in the coming days, the Iraqi Minister of immigration and displaced persons, Mr. Nofal Baha Musa. Mr. Jassim al-Attiyah continues and is determined to complete the project. This project cost the Iraqi government more than five billion Iraqi dinars, according to the Minister of immigration and displacement, despite the presence of many empty camps for displaced persons in other parts of Iraq and far from areas following the Yazidi religion, where information confirms the existence of seven empty camps in Mosul province.

In this project, Mr. Minister, we see that you equate the murderer and the victim and forget about the barbaric crimes that were committed, and perhaps because of your project, other massacres in the region will be raised.

We at the General Secretariat for the Protection of followers of religions and doctrines in Iraq and the international Yazidi Foundation against genocide repeat and confirm our strong condemnation mentioned in our address dated 11-02-2020, and we again condemn the actions of the Ministry. Please note that civil and human rights organizations and families of ISIL victims have not stopped their demands to stop this project.

Unfortunately, none of the Yazidi families and displaced persons, estimated at 360,000, are present anymore, as they continue to live in camps for displaced persons in Kurdistan and confirm their rejection of the Minister's project, as it increases the likelihood of clashes and fighting instead of restoring and controlling security, which affects the state of civil society.

The signatories below strongly condemn the project of the Ministry of immigration and displacement and completely reject it and support the rejection of the Governor of Nineveh and the national security adviser, as well as the local government and the Iraqi Parliament from the Nineveh governorate, and will use all available and democratic methods and procedures to prevent and stop the transfer of ISIL families to this project in order to ensure the security of the region, and the missing persons, and ensure the task of rehabilitation, with a reasonable approach.
