Minister of regional development and infrastructure, Deputy Prime Minister Maya Tskitishvili explained the principle of transport movement in the country under General quarantine.

General quarantine is introduced throughout the territory of Georgia from 8: 00 on March 31. The measures are aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

There will be a curfew, which prohibits the movement of citizens on the streets between 21: 00 and 6: 00. Public transport, including the metro, will also be completely banned.

From 8:00 to 21: 00, private cars and taxis are allowed (no more than two passengers in the back seat).

In addition, transport will be able to move, which serves the organized transportation of employees of objects that continue to work-pharmacies, grocery stores, media, and so on.

During the period from 21:00 to 6:00, only vehicles with special passes are allowed to move.

People over the age of 70 are not allowed to leave their homes without visiting pharmacies, grocery stores, and hospitals. All citizens on the street must be prepared to present their identity card at the request of the police.

At the entrance and exit to the cities of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Poti, Zugdidi, Rustavi, transport will be disinfected.

Borders have been closed in Georgia since March 18, and a state of emergency has been declared from March 21 until April 21. Until recently, the strict quarantine regime was in effect only in the Bolnisi and Marneuli regions, where there was a possibility of an epidemic of flash, but it was never detected.

Public order on the streets will be provided by the patrol police. The fine for violating the rules of the state of emergency imposed by the government since March 21 is 3 thousand lari (more than 900 dollars) for individuals, and 15 thousand lari (about 4.5 thousand dollars) for legal entities.
