As for Spain, the Embassy and Consulate General in Barcelona provided Georgian citizens with housing, food and other basic necessities. Georgian students were also assisted in finding flights to fly from Spain.

In addition, the Embassy and Consulate are in constant communication with Georgian citizens infected with coronavirus. They are assisted whenever possible and contacted by doctors for advice. By this time, such assistance has been provided to several dozen people. All this is done at the expense of the Embassy.

In connection with the coronavirus pandemic, Georgian embassies and consulates abroad can be contacted around the clock.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Georgia informs citizens daily about Charter flights that are carried out several times a week to return their citizens to their homeland.

Georgia has completely closed air traffic since March 21. Flights are operated only by Georgian airlines in coordination with the government of Georgia. After arriving from abroad, all passengers are sent to a mandatory two-week quarantine.

However, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Georgia no longer carries out the procedure for delivering the bodies of deceased compatriots from abroad. This requirement of the world health organization applies to all countries. This explanation is made by the Agency in connection with the death from coronavirus of three Georgian citizens in Spain.
