Coronavirus in Georgia: full list of restrictions and bans/update for March 25

A state of emergency has been declared in Georgia, and there are more restrictions and bans in the country. The authorities urge the population not to go outside unless absolutely necessary

The government of Georgia continues to introduce new restrictions that regulate the life of the population during a state of emergency. Thus, following intercity road and rail passenger transportation, all domestic flights are also canceled.

A full quarantine regime has been introduced in two districts of Eastern Georgia - Bolnisi and Marneuli. Such measures are related to one of the last detected cases of coronavirus in Georgia – in Marneuli, the infection was found in a 62-year-old woman, whose sources of infection could not be determined. She left behind about 1,700 contacts, 90 of them direct.

On March 21, the government of Georgia declared a state of emergency in the country, which will last until April 21. Curfews and quarantines have not yet been established anywhere except in the Marneuli and Bolnisi districts.

Meetings of more than 10 people are prohibited in the country, except for transport, medical and public institutions.

The number of infected at the moment is 70 people, 9 of them have recovered. Epidemiologists assume that the number of cases will increase. Now the main task is to prevent mass distribution, to do this, it is necessary to ensure social distance and limit the mobility of citizens.

The Georgian Prime Minister announced a list of restrictions that will be imposed during the state of emergency. For now-without curfew and strict quarantine for everyone without exception. Gajaria the Prime Minister has not excluded that the authorities can go on it but we decided to abstain.In force-a call for everyone to maintain self-isolation as much as possible, without going outside unless absolutely necessary.
During the state of emergency, the crossing of all state borders of Georgia is stopped, except for the transportation of goods.
Gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited, including restrictions on the number of simultaneous presence of visitors in stores.
All public services are switching to a new mode of operation.
The government of Georgia has the right to restrict the right of ownership and use the property and material base of individuals or organizations for medical purposes or for quarantine.If necessary, the government of Georgia will regulate the prices of medicines, medical services and products.
The government gets the right to mobilize all persons with medical education.

During the state of emergency, court sessions will be held remotely.

For violations of the conditions of the state of emergency, quarantine and isolation, individuals will be fined in the amount of three thousand lari, and legal entities – in the amount of 15 thousand lari.

In case of repeated violations, criminal liability is provided in the form of imprisonment for up to 3 years.
